Street Children/Child Trafficking

Millions of Asian children are homeless, with no family, forced to survive on the streets. Grassroots Asia contributes food, clothing, medicine and educational materials to drop-in shelters and participates in programs which offer services to destitute children. Grassroots Asia works with organizations in Asia to develop creative solutions toward combating the trafficking of children for prostitution. Grassroots Asia funds programs which effectively address prevention in high-risk areas and those which provide rehabilitation services to affected children.

Resident Homes & Schools

Grassroots Asia offers aid to resident homes and schools providing housing and education to orphans, street children and the extremely impoverished. Quality living conditions, healthy food, clothing, education and love are provided at all residential homes and schools funded.

Emergency Relief

Grassroots Asia has an emergency relief fund for the distribution of food, clothing, medicine, blankets and temporary shelter in times of unexpected disaster.

Medical and Dental Services

Grassroots Asia provides aid to local agencies implementing critically needed medical and dental services in impoverished areas of Asia. Services are offered at several clinics as well as via mobile units that travel to remote schools and villages. Grassroots Asia aids schools and medical clinics in acquiring and maintaining quality teachers and doctors to insure stability and a strong foundation for growth.

India’s “Sponsor-A-Cow Campaign”

Cows, sacred and revered in India, are a great way for schools and orphanages to become more self-sufficient. They provide nourishment for children, vocational training and income. Grassroots Asia purchases donated cows and delivers them to selected schools and orphanages.

W.I.S.H.– Women’s Independent Self-Help Network

WISH is a program for the upliftment of women in India, providing academic scholarships, vocational training, counseling services, job opportunities and small business opportunities. The WISH network brings together women from all sectors of society, including various economic backgrounds, religious beliefs and geographical locations in an effort to offer support to marginalized women. Program participants include unmarried girls, widows, divorcees, single mothers and victims of abuse or natural disaster. Emphasis is placed on achieving economic and personal freedom while being an active and contributing member of society.
